Mechanical Design Engineer

Your Role as Mechanical Design Engineer
As Mechanical Design engineer at Kalpana Systems, you will be responsible for designing mechanical sub-systems for our prototype and subsequent commercial systems. These subsystems involve high-precision positioning of components in a heated atmospheric environment. In this role you will be reporting to our Development Manager. As Mechanical Design Engineer you are part of a high-tech start-up with great growth potential from the early stages!

Tasks and Responsibilities
• Assessment and review of subsystem requirement specifications
• Delivering subsystem concepts which include assessment of manufacturability, maintainability, safety and costs
• Delivering detail designs in CAD including commissioning documentation, manufacturing and assembly instructions
• Collection and analysis of measurement data from prototype testing • Concise and comprehensive status reporting
• Offer technical advise in the design of other subsystems

What We Are Looking For
• A bachelor or master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or Mechatronics • Minimum 2 years of experience with a proven track record in mechanical design engineering
• Experienced in working with SolidWorks
• Knowledge of material selection and finish
• Experienced in form and fit tolerances
• Experience with high-precision positioning systems is a plus
